The origin of Euronext can be traced to the founding of the Amsterdam Stock Exchange in 1602 by the Dutch East India Company. Euronext itself was founded in 2000 by the merger of exchanges in Amsterdam, Paris and Brussels.

Euronext nowadays is an international, intercultural company, which provides its more than 2,200 employees in more than 20 countries worldwide with a dynamic work environment at a high-growth, high-tech company.

Euronext Amsterdam is located in the lively city centre of Amsterdam at the historical exchange building at Beursplein 5. This historical building is the heart of the Dutch financial capital market. It hosts 120 Euronext staff members and around 35 tenant companies with more than 300 employees. The building contains 10 meeting and event rooms with an overall capacity of maximum 285 persons.

Euronext is looking for an Events Manager for the Amsterdam location within the Euronext Investor Relations, Communications & Events Team. The Euronext Events team is responsible for managing and delivering events and conferences both within Euronext’s seven local markets and in other locations if required. The main responsibility of the local Events Manager is to oversee all internal and external events and conferences in the Netherlands and to support Euronext’s growing activities in Europe. Besides the organisational part of event management, the Events Manager will be responsible for leading local and pan-European projects such as the re-development of the AEX Experience in Amsterdam building (the educational group tour of the exchange building for students, in close collaboration with the Communications Manager), the development of ESG-oriented initiatives or the creation of event and marketing materials. The Events Manager also works closely with the Communications Manager to protect the Brand Identity of Euronext at Euronext Amsterdam.

Together with the business lines and the communications team the Events Manager is also responsible for the marketing of events, creating maximum visibility through, for instance, the (local) social media channels. The Events Manager manages and controls the events budget for Euronext Amsterdam, in close collaboration with the responsible business lines in Euronext Amsterdam.

The Events Team is an important pivot in both the overall international as well as the local organisation. On a local level the Events Manager works closely together with the local Communications Manager, the local departments for Primary Markets, Facilities, Human Resources, and with the Amsterdam Managing Board. For the organisation of events, the Events Manager partners with internal and external catering companies. As hybrid and virtual events have become a new standard in the events world, the Events Manager also collaborates with technical companies, such as the Euronext subsidiary Company Webcast, international provider of corporate webcasts and events.

On an international level, the Events Manager closely collaborates with the Events team members across Europe on corporate projects and works on various projects using pan-European systems to improve the current quality of events and putting in place systems, processes and procedures to help deliver greater efficiencies. The Events team members also help with the integration of new Euronext entities.

Events and projects

The events that are organised by Euronext are the heart of the group’s marketing and communication strategy. The Events Manager of Euronext Amsterdam is responsible for the organisation and coordination of major events such as:

  • Listing ceremonies (in the context of Initial Public Offering operations)
  • (Daily) gong ceremonies
  • Academic events, such as the multi-day Euronext education programme TechShare
  • Workshops
  • Round tables
  • Webcasts
  • Business or private lunches and dinners
  • Internal events, such as the End of Year Party and Family Day

The organisation and coordination of the events above include the preparation of all logistics, guestlists and catering arrangements, presentation materials, AV support, media services, etc. Also briefing external agencies and (internal) stakeholders about the events.

These events take place in either the historical building of Euronext Amsterdam or in other external premises, in physical, virtual or hybrid formats, organised closely with Euronext’s subsidiary Company Webcast. In addition, the Events Manager is also responsible for the organisation of events of the tenant companies in the building and for event requests from external parties.

Vereisten

Euronext Amsterdam is looking at the following profile:

  • Hospitality mindset and a strong customer-focus
  • Strong team player who can also work and take decisions independently
  • Able to connect well on an individual, person-to-person level, while are also being eager to work in intercultural/international teams
  • Curious, ambitious and proactive with good communication skills
  • Able to deal with pressure and able to set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity and understanding of the financial markets and products are an advantage
  • Experience with Event Management is required and skills in PR and Social Media are a plus

Education and Knowledge

  • Native Dutch speaker and fluent in English. Other European languages are an advantage
  • Full time availability (5 business days)
  • 3-5 years+ experience in (corporate) events management
  • International experience and cultural sensitivity and proven international exposure is a plus
  • BA or MSc in Event Management, PR/Communications, Marketing, Hotel Management or other related fields
  • You have sufficient knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
